OUTPOST EDUCATION TEAM REPORT

DECEMBER 2008

*The St Marys Outpost Vietnam Veterans Education Team has

completed its fourth year of busy and rewarding interaction with over

50 secondary schools. This number includes both NSW State

Government Schools and Non Government Independent Schools,

specifically, Catholic Christian Anglican Greek Orthodox and Muslim

Schools.

*End of year statistics on the E-Teams achievements indicate:

-69 two hour presentation sessions with a total audience of

5560 students.

-22 guest speaker presentations at school/community Anzac

Services with a total audience of 12300 students.

*School evaluations of our presentation are always very positive and

further confirm that our program is a valued and informative

experience for students.

*One of the original aims of the E-Team was to ‘connect’ Outpost

Veterans with school communities to help pass on our Vietnam

military history, traditions, values and aspirations to future

generations and for members to play a continuing role in service to

community and country. The achievement statistics above are a

good indication of the success of the program.

*Advance bookings for 2009 already include many of the schools

visited this year as well as the outreach trips to the Cooma and

Gilgandra Districts and the Cobham Juvenile Justice Centre yearly

program. Additionally a number of new schools have indicated they

will utilise the E-Team program next year.

*Congratulations and thank you to all members of the Outpost ETeam;

those of you that do the ‘up front’ work in schools and those of

you that support the program in so many other valued ways.

*Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the Outpost Family.
